When I was 6 weeks pregnant I created a face and body oil that carried me through my pregnancy and beyond. This oil became a transformative ritual; one where I began to accept myself, my emerging body and created a vital connection to my baby.

I decided that no matter what happened to my body, I needed to lovingly speak kindly to it, thus a ritual was born. Twice a day, after coming out of the shower I would apply this oil to my growing belly. I would look in the mirror and say “I love and accept myself exactly as I am”. I would then apply it to my face and the rest of my body. I started to notice that my skin became clearer, previous scars lighten then disappeared and after giving birth I realized I didn’t have a single mark. Most importantly I began to radiate from within and felt more comfortable in my own skin, and I owe that to the oil and the relationship I developed with myself throughout my pregnancy. My daughter is 3, and I often think back to those loving moments where we both were transforming. It is one of my favorite memories of my pregnancy, one that I will cherish for the rest of my days.
